[0001] The present invention relates to the field of electric motors with a collector, and more particularly that of starters for a motor vehicle engine engine. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION More particularly, the invention relates to a brush holder support plate for an electric motor, a brush holder adapted to be received on such a plate and a brush holder assembly comprising such a plate and at least one brush holder mounted on that -this.
[0002] For electric commutator motors such as DC motors or universal motors, brushes, generally carbon-based, carried by the stator "electrically contact with the rotor collector to ensure the electrical connection between stator and rotor . The brushes are slidably mounted in brush holders and biased resiliently towards the manifold by a spring arranged between the bottom of the brush holder and the brush. It is known to mount the brush holders on a plate which is fixed on the stator, the plate having a central hole for the passage of the collector and the brush holders being arranged radially around the central hole to position the brushes relative to the collector. . Such plates are for example described in US 7,256,527 B2, US 8,395,297 B2 and JP 7-67296. To mount the brush holders on the plate, it has notches or other guide elements with which cooperates the base of the brush holders. The assembly is carried out by engaging the brush holders on the plate from the central passage hole of the collector towards the periphery of the plate. The plate also has a stop for each brush holder to stop radially towards the periphery of the plate, which prevents the brush holder can bump against the motor housing. These plates nevertheless have the disadvantage of making complex and delicate mounting of the brush holders to the motor. Indeed, it is necessary in a first step to mount the brush holders on the plate and to insert the brushes, then in a second step to mount the plate carrying the brush holders and the brushes on the stator of the engine while by passing the collector through the central passage hole of the plate provided for this purpose. Therefore, it is necessary to hold the brush holders in position on the plate between the first step and the second step, which is generally obtained by mounting with a tight fit of the brush holders on the plate or by an organ retainer arranged on the plate to hold the brush holder in place on the plate. But it is also necessary to hold all the brushes in the brush holders between the first step and the second step, which is particularly difficult in practice, although once in place, it is no longer necessary to remember the brushes in the brush holders since it is the latter who will keep them in place. The object of the present invention is to provide a solution for simplifying the mounting of the brush holders and brushes on the stator of the motor.
[0003] To this end, the present invention provides a brush holder support plate for an electric motor, comprising: a central through hole for the collector of the electric motor; guiding elements for receiving at least one brush holder in sliding connection on the plate in a radial direction to the central through hole, the plate being arranged to allow mounting of the brush holder in sliding connection on the plate by engaging the door - swinging with the guide elements in the direction from the periphery of the plate to the central passage hole; the plate further comprising a non-return stop for each brush holder after mounting thereof in sliding connection on the plate in the direction from the periphery of the plate to the central passage hole, wherein: the stop is elastically retractable to allow the mounting of the brush holder in sliding connection on the plate in the direction from the periphery of the plate to the central through hole; and after mounting the brush holder in sliding connection on the plate, the stop rigidly opposes the displacement of the brush holder in the direction from the central through hole to the periphery of the plate. According to preferred embodiments, the brush holder support plate according to the invention comprises one or more of the following features: the stop is designed to retract elastically under the action of the brush holder on the stop during the assembly of the brush holder in sliding connection on the plate in the direction from the periphery of the plate to the central passage hole; the stop is further arranged so that, after mounting the brush holder in slide connection on the plate, the stop also rigidly opposes the movement of the brush holder in the direction from the periphery of the plate to the passage hole central; the stop is made in the form of an elastic blade extending substantially radially with respect to the central through hole, the blade being arranged at one end on the plate on the side towards the periphery of the plate, the opposite end of the blade being free and disposed on the side towards the central through hole which opposite end is provided to come into contact with the brush holder to rigidly oppose the movement of the latter in the direction from the central through hole to the periphery of the plate, the stop being provided to retract elastically by bending the elastic blade under the action of the brush holder during assembly of the brush holder in sliding connection on the plate in the direction from the periphery of the plate to the central passage hole; the blade forming a stop is provided to retract elastically either towards the face of the plate which is opposite to that receiving the brush holder, or laterally with respect to the direction of the sliding connection between the brush holder and the plate . the stop comes from material with the plate; the guide elements are made of material with the plate; platinum is obtained by cutting and plastic deformation of a sheet; According to another aspect, the invention also proposes a brush holder for an electric motor intended to be mounted on a support plate for a brush holder according to the invention, the brush holder comprising: a base shaped so as to be able to engage in sliding connection the guide elements of the plate; and a recess in the base adapted to be engaged by the non-return stop of the plate to rigidly oppose the displacement of the brush holder at least in the direction from the central through hole to the periphery of the plate. According to a preferred embodiment, the brush holder is intended to be mounted on a brush holder support plate according to the preferred embodiment mentioned above in which the stop is made in the form of an elastic blade, the recess in the base of the brush holder being arranged in the underside of the brush holder and the brush holder comprising a chamfer arranged in the lower part of the base which chamfer is provided to engage the blade forming the non-return stop of the plate and retract it elastically when mounting the brush holder in slide connection on the plate in the direction from the periphery of the plate to the central passage hole. According to another aspect, the invention also proposes a brush holder assembly for an electric motor, comprising: a support plate for a brush holder according to the invention; and - at least one brush holder received in the guide elements of the plate; wherein the platen non-return stop rigidly opposes the displacement of the brush holder at least in the direction from the central through hole to the periphery of the platen.
[0004] According to a preferred embodiment, the brush holder is according to the invention, the non-return stop of the plate being engaged in the recess in the base of the brush holder to rigidly oppose the displacement of the brush holder at less in the direction from the central through hole to the periphery of the plate.
[0005] According to another aspect, the invention also proposes an electric motor, comprising a brush holder assembly according to the invention. The invention also proposes a starter for a motor vehicle engine, comprising an electric motor according to the invention. Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the following description of a preferred embodiment of the invention, given by way of example and with reference to the appended drawing. Figure 1 shows a view of a brush holder assembly for an electric motor according to the invention. Figure 2 shows the plate of the brush holder assembly of Figure 1.
[0006] FIG. 3 shows one of the brush holders of the brush holder assembly of FIG. 1. According to one aspect, the invention proposes a brush holder support plate for an electric motor. This comprises a central passage hole for the electric motor collector and guide elements for receiving at least one brush holder in sliding connection on the plate in a radial direction at the central through hole.
[0007] The plate is arranged to allow the mounting of the brush holder in sliding connection on the plate by engaging the brush holder with the guide elements in the direction from the periphery of the plate to the central passage hole. Therefore, it is advantageously possible to mount the plate on the stator of the motor before mounting the brush holders on the plate. Indeed, once the stage mounted on the stator - with the collector which passes through the central passage hole of the plate - the brush holders can be mounted on the plate since they can engage the guide elements in the direction which goes from the periphery of the turntable to the central through hole. In addition, the brushes will immediately be in their operative position against the motor manifold, which prevents them from leaving the brush holders. The mounting method is thus simplified compared to the case where the mounting of the brush holders is from the central through hole of the plate to its periphery since it can do without means to maintain the brushes in the brush holders , or even the brush holders on the plate, the time of assembly. The plate further comprises a non-return stop for each brush holder after mounting thereof in sliding connection on the plate in the direction from the periphery of the plate to the central through hole. This stop is elastically retractable to allow mounting of the brush holder in sliding connection on the plate in the direction from the periphery of the plate to the central through hole. It is preferably retracted by the action of the brush holder on the abutment during assembly in the aforementioned direction. However, after mounting the brush holder in slide connection on the plate, the stop rigidly opposes the movement of the brush holder in the direction from the central through hole to the periphery of the plate. The stop advantageously prevents the brush holder, after mounting, come to move towards the periphery of the plate and hit the motor housing. The stop therefore has an asymmetrical character since it opposes a strong resistance when, after mounting the brush holder on the plate, it is urged by the brush holder in the direction from the through hole to the periphery of the plate while when mounting the brush holder on the plate, it is biased so as to oppose a lower elastic resistance to be able to retract elastically and allow the final position of the brush holder on the plate. Preferably, the resistance opposed by the stop to the displacement of the brush holder in the direction from the central through hole to the periphery of the plate is at least twice the maximum force necessary to elastically retract the abutment during assembly of the door - swung on the turntable. More preferably, the stop may be designed so that only its plastic deformation allows the brush holder to exceed the stop in the direction from the central through hole to the periphery of the plate.
[0008] Figures 1 to 3 show an embodiment of the invention. Figure 1 illustrates the brush holder assembly which comprises a plate 1 carrying an even number of brush holders 20. In this case, the number of brush holders 20 is four, but it may be different. The brush holders 20 are arranged radially with respect to a central hole 2 of the plate 1 which is provided for the passage of the motor manifold (not shown). The brush holders 20 are distributed around the central passage hole 2. Each brush holder 20 carries a brush 30 which is elastically constrained in the direction of the axis of the central through hole 2, in other words towards the motor manifold. The elastic stress may be conventionally provided by a helical spring (not shown) disposed in the bottom of the brush holder 20. For the electrical connection of the motor, a rigid conductor 40 passes through a support piece 50 of insulating material and is held in place in housings provided for this purpose on the top of the brush holder 20. The conductor 40 is connected to a broom 30 by two through other conductors 41 welded to the conductor 40 while the other brushes 30 are connected to locations 15 provided for this purpose of the plate 1 which is connected to the mass of the engine. For each brush holder 20, the plate 1 comprises a slide formed by two flanges 10 having an 'L' profile and facing each other. Each brush holder 20 comprises on each side in the lower part a lateral groove 21 cooperating with a respective flap 10 for mounting the brush holder 20 in sliding connection on the plate 1. As can be seen in FIG. 2, for each door 20, the plate 1 also comprises a resilient blade 11 forming a non-return stop for the brush holder 20 after being mounted on the plate 1. The blade 11 extending substantially radially relative to the central through hole 2 It is arranged by an end 13 on the plate 1 on the side towards the periphery 1c of the plate 1. The opposite end 12 of the blade 11 is free and arranged on the side towards the central passage hole 2. The opposite end 12 is provided to come into contact with the brush holder 20 to provide the stop function for it after its mounting on the plate 1. For this, the end 12 of the blade is bent upward to project into the passage of defined between the flaps 10 for the brush holder 20. The brush holder 20 has a recess 22 formed in its lower face with a substantially vertical surface 23 of the front side. By the front side, it is necessary to understand the side of the brush holder 20 from which protrudes the brush 30 from the brush holder and which is in front of the motor manifold when the brush holder assembly is in place on the motor stator . The recess 22 of the brush holder 20 is provided to be engaged by the end 12 of the blade 11 when the brush holder 20 is mounted on the plate 1. The end 12 abuts against the surface 23 of the recess 22 in case of biasing the brush holder in the direction from the central through hole 2 to the periphery of the plate 1, which has the effect of blocking the movement of the brush holder 20 in this direction. This advantageously avoids that the brush holder 20 can move back in the slide formed by the wings 10 and come into contact with the motor housing. As can be seen in FIG. 2, the wings 10 forming a slide and the blade 11 can be obtained simply by cutting and folding and / or stamping the sheet forming the plate 1. The mounting of the elements can advantageously be carried out as follows . In a first step, the blank plate 1 of the brush holder 20 is fixed to the stator of the motor in which the rotor has been previously mounted. The fixing of the plate 1 to the stator is carried out by any appropriate means such as screws passing through screw passages (not shown) made in the plate 1. The brush holders 20 with their brushes 30, are then engaged in their slide formed by the wings 10 from the periphery towards the central through hole. This direction of engagement is shown schematically in Figure 2 by the arrow F for the location corresponding to a brush holder 20 on the plate 1. During this operation, the front portion of the base of the brush holder 20 passes over of the blade 11 and comes into contact with it in this case with its end portion 12 because it is bent upwards. As can be seen in FIG. 2, the end portion 12 forms an acute angle with respect to the direction of the slide formed by the corresponding wings 10, taken in the peripheral direction 1e towards the central through hole 2. Therefore, the front portion of the base of the brush holder 20 resiliently pushes the blade 11 downwards - that is to say in the direction from the face 1a of the plate 1 which receives the brush holder 20 towards the opposite face lb of the plate 1 - as and when the brush holder 20 is pushed towards the central passage hole 2. In other words, the blade 11 undergoes flexion under the action of the brush holder 20. At a time of displacement of the brush holder 20 towards the central passage hole 2, the end portion 12 of the blade 11 passes below the base of the brush holder, then engages the recess 22 by springback . To easily push the blade 11 and facilitate the passage of its end 12 under the base of the brush holder 20, it can be provided a chamfer 25 on the underside of the front side of the brush holder 20 to engage in favorable conditions. It will be understood that the elastic limit of the material of the blade 11 is never exceeded during the bending of the blade 11. Once the end portion 12 is engaged in the recess 22, the brush holder 20 is in its final mounting position and the brushes 30 are in contact with the motor manifold. From this position, the brush holder may possibly further advance towards the central passage hole 2, which is not a problem since it is retained by the manifold via its broom 30. On the other hand, it is no longer it is possible to move back towards the periphery of the plate because the end 12 of the blade 11 which bears against the abutment surface 23. Indeed, the biasing of the brush holder 20 on the blade 11 is substantially along the longitudinal axis of the blade 11 towards the end 13 of the blade 11 by which it is arranged on the plate 1. In other words, the loading of the blade 11 is in compression, and no longer in flexion as in the mounting the brush holder 20 on the plate 1 from the periphery to the central through hole 2. As a result, the blade 11 does not retract elastically from the passage of the brush holder 20 as is the case when its montage, but on the contrary it rigidly opposes its displacement. The rigidity of the blade 11 thus opposite can be extremely important since the shaping of the blade 11 can be defined so that the exceeding of the stop formed by the blade 11 by the brush holder 20 involves the destruction by buckling of the blade. blade 11, it being specified that such a solicitation level is never reached in practice. The conformation of the end 12 and the recess 22 may also be provided to prevent the displacement of the brush holder 20 towards the central through hole 2. This makes it possible to avoid or limit possible front-rear vibrations of the brush holder 20 in the slide when the brushes are worn and the brush springs no longer have sufficient force to press the brush holder 20 against the end 12 of the blade 11.
[0009] Of course, the present invention is not limited to the examples and to the embodiment described and shown, but it is capable of numerous variants accessible to those skilled in the art. For example, the blade 11 forming a stop may be provided laterally with respect to the direction of the slide connection between the brush holder 20 and the plate 1. This is feasible by subdividing one of the wings 10 to retain a front portion and a rear portion while the intermediate material portion is shaped as a radial blade with a free end portion of the side toward the central through hole 2. The free end portion of the blade protrudes in the passage of the brush holder and is designed to be retracted elastically in the lateral direction by the brush holder during its mounting on the plate 1. The brush holder 20 has in this case a recess or notch on the side in which The free end of the blade is engaged to perform the stop function in the same manner as in the case of the recess 22. According to another example, it can be provided that the non-return stop is retracted. e elastically when mounting the brush holder on the plate by a suitable tool instead of being by the action of the brush holder on the stop. However, the fact that it is the action of the brush holder on the stop which retracts elastically is advantageous because it is not necessary to use a tool for this purpose.
